PMIs play a defining role in economy thanks to being among the first data to be announced each month on conditions of economic activities, being published before official data, and its correlation with data realized. ICI has collaborated with a global brand, Markit Economics to calculate Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) in Turkey and share it with our industrialists and public opinion on economy in each month. “Istanbul Chamber of Industry Turkey-PMI Manufacturing Industry Report” and “ICI Turkey Sectoral PMI” report are shared with the public in each month under the roof of the ICI. PMI: the fastest and most reliable leading indicator of growth... Cooperation established between the Istanbul Chamber of Industry and IHS Markit within the frame of PMI activities is maintained with improvements. The Turkey Manufacturing Export Climate Index is calculated by weighting together national PMI data on output trends from PMI surveys. Weights are derived from statistics on the relative importance of individual trading partners’ contributions to the exports of Turkish manufacturers. As a preliminary indicator, the index enables us to monitor development and potential of the main export markets of our country and obtain tips on which markets should be focused on.
