We, the industrialists who are the driving force of sound and sustainable economical growth, play a major role in Turkish economy by producing, exporting, paying taxes and creating employment opportunities. Even though our economy is passing through challenging days, we are not losing our hope. We continue to add dynamism to Turkish economy with a great sense of responsibility.
And with this responsibility in mind, we attend to the Employment Movement carried out by our umbrella organization, Turkish Union of Chambers and Exchange Commodities, and supported by the President of Türkiye. As a first step, we had sent a letter to all our members. We had included this letter into the current issue of our magazine. Moreover, our magazine includes detailed information regarding the employment incentives provided by Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
On the other hand, we had established Employment Movement Helpdesk that our firms can get information regarding employment incentives and report their new employments. And we began declaring the names of our members providing new employment opportunities within the scope of Employment Movement through various channels including our website. We are engaged in corporate partnerships to assist our members looking for employees but fail to find any. We match the employment demand and the employment supply with the Turkish Employment Agency's business and vocational consultant. And by holding meetings with various industrial and regional associations and non-governmental organizations, we inform our base about the employment movement.
Again within this framework, we pioneered the "Grandma Project" of Türkiye in order to improve the women's employment in business life. We had signed a protocol on February 8th with Mehmet Müezzinoğlu - Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security, Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya - Turkish Minister of Family and Social Policies and respective non-governmental organizations in Ankara. Right after signing this contract, we initiated our pilot work covering 5000 families in the determined cities of Türkiye. The great interest attracted and the great demand received by the "Grandma Project" as of the first day are very pleasing in terms of the improvement of women employment.
We believe that both our "Grandma Project" and other concrete actions supporting the employment movement will contribute significantly to the reduction of unemployment rates. In this period that encouraging conditions are created and concrete opportunities are provided, we strongly believe that you, our dear members, will participate actively to this employment movement. We will continue to be in touch to provide the required support to you.
We believe that the industrialists and tradesmen paying their taxes regularly for years deserve positive discrimination. Thus, I appreciate the 5 percent discount provided to them in advance tax by the Turkish government that has taken many steps to reinvigorate the real industry as of 2017.
