New Industrial Age and ICI

  • Archive

We left behind a busy election period. After the elections for members of parliament, we completed the second round of presidential election on Sunday, May 28, 2023 as required by democracies. I congratulate once again our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who has been elected once again with our people’s votes. Believing that the new government will also achieve and mark successful projects for our country, I wish success to all our ministries. Now it is time to go back to our country’s real agenda. First of all, there are many crucial decisions to make in our economy.

I would like to emphasize that the most important issue to address should be price stability and financial stability for our economy. While taking the steps necessary for establishment of this stability, we are sure that utmost care will be taken to prevent any negative impact it might have on our manufacturing. I would like to underline once again that as we frequently say, the decisions must be taken with a balanced approach in consideration of the issue of “industry’s funding”.

It is because our industry is passing through a critical period to reach the level of the new industrial age. We need a stable financial system to reach this industrial age in every aspect from twin transition to advanced technology.

We discussed this important issue with our new Industry and Technology Minister Mr. Fatih Kacır at our June assembly meeting. You can read in the following pages the details of this meeting held with the topic of “A Transition Focused on the New Age’s Industry and Our Priorities to Increase Efficiency in Production”. I would like to thank Mr. Kacır again for sharing his valuable opinions with us.

This month, I also want to share with you another achievement that we are proud of. The ICI Professional Education Collaboration Project (İSO MEİP), which we have been successfully and proudly conducting for three years, was selected as one of the four projects to go to the finals of the ICC World Chambers Federation’s 2023 World Chambers Competition among 111 applications in the Best Partnership Project Category.

We participated to the finals of the competition organized in Geneva city of Switzerland in June 23 together with ICI’s Vice Chairman Mr. İrfan Özhamaratlı, Board Member Mr. Sultan Tepe and our ICI committee and we had a proud night. We competed against New Zealand, Columbia and Portugal at the finals.

Even though we could not bring the championship to our country, it is very valuable for us that our İSO MEİP has been recognized as a successful social responsibility project in the world, too.

I sincerely congratulate all our industrialists, trainers and ICI personnel for their effort and time to get this project to this point in just 4.5 years.

Using this opportunity, I wish you all a good and peaceful month.
