Our New Steps Towards Strengthening the Cooperation

We held the negotiation meeting which will strengthen the cooperation with the Ministry of Economy with the aim of supporting sustainable growth in Türkiye’s economy within public-private sector cooperation, as Istanbul Chamber of Industry.

Nihat Zeybekçi, the Minister of Economy, İbrahim Şenel, the Ministry of Economy Undersecretary, Adnan Yıldırım, General Directorate of Turkish Eximbank and authorities of the Ministry of Economy and ICI Assembly and Professional Committee Members participated in our meeting. The subjects of revising Customs Unions, participation of private sector in Free Trade Agreement negotiations with its knowledge and experiences, tracking the risks of Brexit agreement closely were touched upon in this meeting.

Our January Assembly meeting was gathered with an agenda towards strengthening our cooperation. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca, rector of Istanbul Technical University shared his opinions with the title of “The Importance of A New University-Industry Cooperation Model with Education Focused on Technology in Terms of our Industry and Economy in the Global Competition and Knowledge Era” concerning the agenda with our Assembly Members.

Digital world has great importance for all of us. We launched an important entrepreneurship which will provide transformation for the digitalization which aims increase in productivity, endorsement, quality and energy efficiency and decrease in the expenses of the companies and simplification in the procedures. We are starting off with GE Digital which is one of the leading digital transformation service provider for cooperation with the aim of enlightening the digital transformation of our members more than 18 thousands. The cooperation between two institutions will open up a new horizon for ICI member industry firms which are on the way of digitalization and make them comprehend the route before them. The firms will be able to take the steps which they need when making digitalization investment in time and as based on proved experiences.

We are continuing attaching importance to international cooperations. Thailand, India, Uzbekistan, South Africa days which ICI has organized recently got the wide participation and interest of our industrialists. We are determined to continue organizing country days which contributes to opening up horizons in terms of foreign trade, investments and opportunities.
