We left one month behind with precious and significant activities for being more close to the energy, defense industry, finance and our members.
The energy which we, as the Chamber, consider as very important is increasing its value constantly together with the improvement of economy and industry from past to present. Furthermore, it has crucial importance in terms of both production and consumption for all the countries on the world as much as for our country today.
While emphasizing on the importance of the energy, firstly, I want to underline this fact: Energy efficiency is gaining much more value ever more. I want to especially state that energy efficiency is one of the main elements of sustainable development and competitiveness.
We had an exciting event under the roof of Istanbul Chamber of Industry for energy efficiency in last days. With the participation of Mr. Dr. Berat Albayrak, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Mr. Ziya Altunyaldız, the president of Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Committee on Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources Information and Technology, our Chamber’s “Energy Efficiency Awards” found their owners.
As Istanbul Chamber of Industry, we are undertaking an active role in defense industry gradually. We attach great importance to the local and national production target as much as the improvement of modern defense industry in Türkiye and the modernization of Turkish Armed Forces. The Defense Industry Submit which we organized in October with the aim of brining the related parties together in this framework drew great interest. While hosting more than 650 precious participants of the sector, 142 firms held 505 bilateral negotiations. We believe that these negotiations will provide opportunity for beneficial cooperations...
We are in an intense struggle for finding solutions concerning financial matters which are on the agenda of our industrialists. We realized an effective negotiation by hosting Mr. Naci Ağbal, the Minister of Finance in our Chamber in the last month. We mainly dwelt on the subjects such as the activities which can be carried out to encourage the employment in manufacturing industry, exemption from property taxes in the industry companies apart from Organized Industrial Sites (OSB), alleviation of VAT implementations and especially the burden of the VAT on the businesses, and subject concerning whether another model can be applied or not because of the burden on the industry caused by guarantee letters given to the public in this work meeting.
We added another one to the contact points which we opened to be more close to our industrialists in October. Therefore, we will be close to the Istanbul industrialist in Hadimkoy following our Tuzla Contact Unit with Yenibosna and Umraniye IMES representative agency.
We commemorate Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who is the leader of the Independence War, founder of Turkish Republic with respect and grace in the 79th year of his death with the wishes for our nation’s maintaining its presence in unity forever.
