B20 Members, Business Forum of G20, Meet in Istanbul

Leading business circles across the globe were in Istanbul for a joint event held by B20, T20 and L20 which are respectively the business forum, think tank and labor organization groups of G20. Erdal Bahçıvan, Member of the Executive Committee of B20 and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Istanbul Chamber of Industry made a speech during the meeting.
Also present at the breakfast meeting were dignitaries from member countries, chiefly Ali Babacan, Deputy Prime Minister Responsible for the Economy as well as Ministers of Finance and Presidents of Central Bank of B20 member states. The meeting was hosted by M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Chairman of the B20 Türkiye Executive Council and Chairman of TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye) as well as Erdal Bahçıvan, Member of the Executive Committee of B20 and Chairman of the Board of ICI.
During the breakfast meeting, participants exchanged evaluations and ideas on yesterday’s G20 Ministers of Finance meeting. ICI Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan took the floor and pointed out how expectations changed very fast, with the growth rate not as rapid as it used to be. Bahçıvan emphasized the implications of unemployment and inequality in the world, stating that only global cooperation could solve the issues. He also underscored the special attention Turkish business world gives to G20.
