Board Consisting of Malaysian Business People Visited Istanbul Chamber of Industry

Malaysian Board coming to Türkiye because of 17th MÜSİAD EXPO Fair which was organized in İstanbul between the dates of 21-24 November 2018 visited Istanbul Chamber of Industry. Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Trade High Council Member Jamal Hisham and KOPEKAP representatives Dr. Azizah binti Anuar and Madam Zaitun binti Ahmed took place in the board hosted by ICI Board Treasurer Sadık Ayhan Saruhan in Odakule.
ICI Board Treasurer Sadık Ayhan who addressed to Board members said that they define Malaysia as a sister and friendly country. Saruhan who said that they attach great importance to international relations as ICI, recorded that they have experience in partnership matters. Informing that they carried out importation for 3.1 billion dollars despite of their exportation for 286 million dollars with Malaysia, Saruhan stated that the potential between two countries is beyond this figure. Saruhan said that with the free trade agreement signed between the two countries in 2015, customs duty for 70% of goods has been removed. Saruhan said that they can help to firms which want to conduct business in Türkiye in all aspects. Saruhan added that the business potential between two countries is high and business people’s visiting each other is of great importance.
The areas in which investment and production can be carried out between two countries were mentioned in the negotiation. It was expressed by the Board that the Malaysian firms participating in 17th MÜSİAD EXPO Fair are carrying out business in food, solar energy, electrical wirings, construction materials and green building technologies sectors. Stating that machinery sector in Malaysia depends on the importation from China and they are willing for purchasing machinery from Türkiye, the board representatives said that they expect Turkish firms wanting to make investment and importation to Malaysia. The representatives specified that Malaysia can be an important center for the firms which want to reach East Asia countries, thanks to its central location.
The areas in which cooperation can be fulfilled in the sectors of machinery, rubber and food between two countries in the meeting.
