Flaman Region of Belgium Which Draws Attention with its Developed Economy was Introduced for the Industrialists

Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) organized Belgium Flaman Advertising Seminar with the aim of introducing the business and investment opportunities in Flaman region of Belgium which draws attention with its developed economy to Turkish industrialists. Sophie de Smedt, the Istanbul Consul General of Belgium participated in the event which was hosted by Vehbi Canpolat, ICI Board of Directors Member in Odakule. Numerous industrialists and business people who want to use the opportunities in the region and make investments participated in the event.
Having made a speech at the introduction of the event, Vehbi Canpolat, the ICI Board of Directors Member stated that as ICI, they carried out events introducing different countries in order to create new opportunities for the industrialists and Flaman of Belgium is an important region for the industrialists. Having recorded that Flaman region is the logistic base of Europe and with which Türkiye expanding into the world should establish a cooperation, Canpolat recorded that the export volume for 7,5 billion dollars should be increased between two countries.
Stating that the Turkish who went to Belgium to work 50 years ago can be a significant bridge between the two countries today, Canpolat expressed that they expect from these people to contribute to the economic and commercial development. Canpolat emphasized that the relationship between the two country proceeds in parallel with the development in the humanitarian relationships.
Sophie de Smedt, the Consul General of Belgium who took to the stage after him reminded that she had participated in an event organized by ICI two years ago as well. Having mentioned that many thing had gone through various changes since that time, Smedt recorded that the region has gone through a challenging period where it has various uncertainties and the economic relations have an effect on this. Indicating that Turkish firms have been accustomed to and very competent to catch up with this fast transformation, Smedt recorded that they have done their best about getting visa for Turkish business people and they will continue to do from now on.
Dr. Tulu Gürakan, the Old Trade Principal Consultant of Brussels made a presentation titled Cooperation and Investment Opportunities in Belgium Market. Ezgi Çeri, Deputy Commercial Attache of Istanbul Consulate General of Belgium and Hüseyin Aslan, the Director of Aslan Consulting spoke about investment climate and the requirements for this in the chapter titled Business and Investment Opportunities in Flanders. Michael Vangenechten, the Senior Manager of PWC made a presentation titled “On Taxation in Belgium for Foreign Investors”
Ömer Araz, the CEO of Normed Denizcilik Taşımacılık and Şerhan Şimşek, the CEO of TFLL Pharma BVBA mentioned about their experiences their companies went through in their investments in Flaman region in Belgium. And the questions of the listeners were answered by the speakers in the question-answer session.
