ICI Management Meets Consulate of the Republic of Korea

Erdal Bahçıvan, Chairman of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) met with Cha Youngcheol, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Istanbul for lunch. Sadık Ayhan Saruhan, ICI Board Treasurer, Serdar Urfalılar, ICI Board Member, Oksok Ko, Consul of the Republic of Korea in Istanbul, and Tae Ho Kim, General Director of Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra).

The meeting discussed economic relations between Turkish business and the Republic of Korea, and explored avenues of further improvement. Noting that the good relations and the free trade agreement between the two countries presented new opportunities for enhancing commercial relations, Erdal Bahçıvan called upon Turkish industrialist to assign more focus on the Republic of Korea. Cha Youngcheol, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Istanbul, noted that the trade balance between the two countries is currently in favor of the Republic of Korea, however, Türkiye has a significant export potential, particularly in designer ready to wear and food.
