Industry and Trade Chamber Directors of Northern Rhein-Westphalia of Germany Visited ICI

A board including professional directors from the chambers of industry and trade of Northern Rhein-Westphalia, Cologne, Bielefeld, Detmold, Hagen, Krefeld, Aachen and Dordmund of Germany visited Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. The Board with the leadership of Alexander Hoeckle, the Director of Cologne Chamber of Trade and Industry International Relations was hosted in Odakule by İrfan Özharamatlı, ICI Board of Directors Deputy Chairperson. Özhamaratlı, ICI Deputy Chairperson expressed to be very plased for the ICI visit of the Board and provided information regarding Istanbul industry and ICI for the German directors. Özhamaratlı answered the questions of the board regarding the industry composition in Istanbul and its current situation. Information regarding the possible effects of Brexit on German and Turkish firms, investments of Turkish firms in Germany, trade relations of Türkiye with Europe and Germany and update in the Customs Union was shared at the meeting. They agreed that update in the Customs Union is a necessity for both Türkiye and Europe. Alexander Hoeckle, the Director of Cologne Chamber of Trade and Industry and Chairperson of Board stated that German Chambers of Trade and Industry will be very glad to establish cooperation with the Chambers in Türkiye during the update of the Customs Union.

The Board representing the German Chambers of Industry and Trade included the following names: Bielefeld- Harald Grefe, Detmold- Andreas Henkel, Hagen- Frank Herrmann, Krefeld- Stefan Enders, Aachen- Dr. Gunter Schaible, Dortmund- Wulf-Christian Ehrich.
