Kostroma City Committee from Russia Visited Istanbul Chamber of Industry and Invited Turkish Industrialists to Their Region for Investment

A committee from Kostroma region of Russia which came to Istanbul to participate in some fairs and events and draw Turkish investors to their region visited Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI). At the visit hosted by ICI Vice President Adnan Dalgakıran, Sergei Sitnikov, the governor of Kostroma Region of Russia who was presiding the board made a presentation about their region and invited Turkish industrialists to their region for investment.

Following names took part in the Board presided by Sitnikov: Vice Governor of Kostroma Region Yurii Makov, Assistant of Governor of Kostroma Region Marat Hasanov, Head of Association of Russian Forest Products Exporters and Industrialists Andrei Smirnov, Russian Commercial Agent Aidar Gaşigullin and Principal Consultant from Russian Commercial Agent Artur Leontev.

ICI Vice President Adnan Dalgakıran making speech in the meeting mentioned about the pleasure resulting from hosting them as a board in ICI and said that they are always interested in business and investment opportunities in Russia as Turkish business world, and wish that the visit would be beneficial in this sense. Mentioning that he knows the potential of Russia very well as a businessperson conducting business in Russia drew attention to the high potential for investment and trade between the two countries. However indicating to severe foreign trade deficit between Türkiye and Russia currently, Dalgakıran stated that they carried out export for 3 billion dollars to Russia but carried out importation for 17 billion dollars, and they should balance this high deficit and cooperate for this situation reciprocally. Specifying that they want to make a tour around Moscow with business world, Dalgakıran said that despite of talking about many matters here, it would be beneficial to visit there.

Governor of Kostroma Region Sergei Sitnikov informed about forestry and woodworking in which their region is powerful and jewelery sector in detail and said that they are ready to guide the industrialists who want to make investment in these fields. Telling that they have had a 150-year-history for design in jewelery, Sitnikov stated that they are in contact with the jeweleries in Istanbul within this framework and they have sent their designers for the competitions carried out here recently. Mentioning that they want to export high-value-added products from their region, Sitnikov drew attention to investment of Turkish business world in their region is of great importance for themselves. Sitnikov also added that investments especially for the sectors related to forestry and jewelery will highly please them.
