Newly Appointed Swiss Ambassador to Ankara, Guillaume Bertrand Scheurer, and Swiss Consul General in Istanbul, Philippe Brandt, Pay a Courtesy Visit to ICI Chairman, Erdal Bahçıvan

In recent months, Guillaume Bertrand Scheurer, the newly appointed Swiss Ambassador to Ankara, and Philippe Brandt, the Swiss Consul General in Istanbul, paid a courtesy visit to Erdal Bahçıvan, Chairman of Board of Directors of Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI). The meeting took place at ICI’s headquarters in the Odakule building and was attended by Arpat Şenocak, Chairman of the Board of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye, and Haktan Akın, ICI Secretary General.

During the visit, which included discussions on current global developments, participants explored opportunities for enhancing trade and industrial cooperation between the two countries. Emphasis was placed on the potential for expanding economic relations between Switzerland and Türkiye, with a focus on fostering innovative industrial solutions and technological collaborations. It was highlighted that Switzerland places significant importance on its industrial and commercial activities in Türkiye and aims to strengthen these relationships further.

The meeting emphasized that Switzerland is an important partner in its trade relations with Türkiye, and consensus was reached on the need to enhance communication between institutions to implement future projects that will bring businesspeople from both countries together and to develop collaborations in vocational training. Accompanying Swiss Ambassador Guillaume Bertrand Scheurer were the following individuals: Levent Durukan, Economic and Trade Attaché at the Swiss Embassy in Ankara; Eda Akalın, Director of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye and Yasemin Öztürk, Manager of Swiss Business Hub Türkiye.
