Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) released its March 2024 Report on the developments in the Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) in the World. Global PMI rose to 50.6 in March, indicating a moderate growth in the sector for the second month running. This is the highest reading since July 2022. The PMI, which was on average 49.0 in the last quarter of 2023, increased to 50.3 in the first quarter of 2024. Global output grew during the first quarter. The increase in March was at the highest pace in 21 months. The strongest increase in new orders has been recorded since May 2022, while the downward trend in export orders appears to be coming to an end.

Manufacturing PMI index was posted above the 50.0 no-change mark in 14 out of the 32 nations for which data were available, That number was 15 in February. 17 countries increasing their Manufacturing PMI on a monthly basis was a positive development in general.
