ICI Chairman Bahçıvan: “Industry Has the Lion's Share in Türkiye's Growth"

During the ordinary monthly meeting of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI), Chairman of the Board of Directors Erdal Bahçıvan stated that industry singlehandedly makes up one third of the growth of Turkish economy with rising production despite challenging circumstances over the past year.

Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan and B20 Türkiye Executive Council Chair and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu gave opening remarks during the meeting where B20 Türkiye Executive Council Member and ICI Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan were also present.

Winners of the 14th Environment and Energy Awards have been announced by Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI). Top winners were Eczacıbaşı, Kaleseramik, Kordsa Global and Vestel Elektronik. During his speech at the award ceremony, ICI Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan said: "Our motto is 'Those who destroy the environment destroy their own future.' Together we have to work hard to create a greener, cleaner and more livable environment, bearing this fact in mind."

ICI Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan joined consuls general of 37 countries at a lunch event during which he stated: "The goods of our industrialists are entitled to free movement. Industrialists themselves should be able to obtain multiannual and multi-entry visas to EU countries for business trips with minimum bureaucratic requirements."

The Board Meeting of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry on "The Export-focused Economy and the Future of our Industry in response to the New Industrial Movement" was held on November 26, 2014 with the participation of Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci. Presided over by İSO Board Chairman Zeynep Bodur Okyay, the meeting featured a talk by İSO Board President Erdal Bahçıvan, who shared with the Minister İSO's recommendations for 9 solutions to 9 important issues.
